after much procrastination, i am here to initiate our much talked about non-existent class outing! (despite having school and projects, unlike those flying off soon SIGH. haha!)

here are two proposed dates!
25 august 07 saturday
26 august 07 sunday
either lunch or dinner!

if i'm not wrong, peishan shuying kaori yijun will be flying off for exchange/school soon, so we must really meet up! pee's flying off on 1st sept so this is the last weekend liao, plus i think the more we drag, the more we will just not meet.

Hmmm. then that makes it 4 of us that actually still remember this place. lol. and i'm still working. till end of month. aha

er. dont know also. i submitted on the day application ended haha. somemore recently i've the habit of putting my phone on silent and non-vibration mode and not picking up calls. end up with lots of missed calls from unknown numbers over the past few weeks. and when i try to call back. most of them never pick up. maybe one of the call's from them haha. they just missed out on a great guy in their camp. saved me 300 bucks too.

has anyone asked yijun bout the chalet? she said that she'll try to arrange for one but until now there's no answer. what kind of attitude is this? she better square it away.

okok it's time to put words into action! i have yet to check with yijun, but how abt having our nassim chalet on the week of 23-29 july? that's the following week. any two days shud be okay since we dont have to go for the whole thing. alternatively, we can just meet up for lunch/dinner/shopping/ktv!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yup that's kinda the only week for me at least, cos after that i have camp, then school starts liao :( ntu starts one week earlier AGAIN.

haha don't worry yong, i'm not involved in nbs camps! the demand for nbs camp is normally much more than supply, so they pick pple to attend! you probably looked too much like a convict la so they forsook you :) but you must attend ur hall camp k! it will be funnnn!! :D

Hmmm. Something struck me that made me think 'bout so many things i always don't seem to bother. It's kind of fascinating to me how people seem to be able to acquaint with one another in different situations. In school, in army, in a basketball court and even in a train such as that in my sassy girl. Initial friendship always seem so fun, probably because of the "fresh" factor in the new made friend. But as time goes on, most of the time it always seem to be the norm that the meetings become more and more rare. Either due to a busy schedule or having found a girl/boy friend or other new acquaintances that require more of your attention. Or sometimes even you find the things you do with one another getting mundane and your heart shouts out to you to find something more appealing to occupy your precious 24h a day. Unless a special occasion comes your way, you do not find the need to catch up with one another. Probably thinking that "oh well, I suppose he/she still know me as a friend." "Think he/she should be quite occupied lar." "Funny to ask them out for nothing. Most prob they wouldn't be interested"

I touched my heart and yea. This is life i guess. A self declared hectic life that just relies on your wants at that very moment. My result? I subconsciously neglected people around me. My sec sch closer friends are just people that "you know my name i know your name so we're friends." Gone are the days when we can talk bout so much with just some cups of tea at a coffeeshop. Or meet in a couple of hour with just a phone call.

I cried today as I sat on the bus thinking 'bout how i neglected him. I thought 'bout how he had always made milo for my breakfast when I was young and stayed over often. He's blind and he cant see the ants from the condensed milk swimming inside my milo. Disgusting? That's what i thought too. Not thinking that if he had the eyes he'd clear them. I'll just go pour away hoping that he didn't know but he always know somehow. But he never scolded me. He'd just make another cup which I will drink, busy using a spoon to scoop the ants out. He cooks. But without eyes he often had some trouble trying to find the ingredients. Sometimes when I see him touching everything in the fridge trying to find some chilli or stuff. I'd just stand there watch. Not offering any help. More curious in whether a blind man can find the thing he wanted than caring for him and ask if he want me to help. I was young, but I have such a wicked heart. Getting fun out of a blind man. I feel so ashamed. There are so many things I've done wrongly in the past around him. But he on his part. He cared for me. He'd try to cook things i like to eat. He'd ask 'bout my results in school. He'd help me massage my ankle when i sprained it. He'd...
Now he can't hear me say that I'm sorry for what I did before which I never apologised. He can't hear me care for him the way he'd care for me. I can blame it that I'm young. But now I'm older, it wouldn't be too late to say sorry, to care. But it was. I realised too late. Life makes fun of me.

I'm crying again. I always thought I can never cry again. Now i am crying over spilled milk. I'm so stupid. haha. But he thought me a lesson though. A painful lesson. A lesson on how to cherish. Yeah yeah, we always hear bout such things. Never take things for granted. But do we ever learn? Even when I heard the news I felt nothing. In the first few days of the wake I find everything so redundant. I always sneak back home to do something else instead of staying beside his body. But after not sleeping for 36h to take over my aunts to stay watch so that they could sleep after a tiring day of rituals and attending to people paying respect, the bus ride to the cemetery totally overwhelmed me. I couldn't even give proper respect to him as a grandson when he's lying there. As I see the coffin lowered, the answer seems clear. I've failed as a grandson.

I wrote so much. My repent i guess. I guess friends are like your relatives, albeit relatives are closer due to blood relationship. A simple gesture of a sms to ask how one's doing can mean quite a lot. And here' s my post to ask how all of you are doing. Maybe we can meet out someday as zhenni suggested. My suggestion is this sat, 10 jun 06. Msg me if you're interested. But i think most people will only see this post after 10 considering the deadness in this blog. A pity, but try to spread the word anw. My attempt to psycho those unwilling. think whether are you really that busy to not be able to afford that time, or you think about the people arnd you like what i do in the past.

But ok, seriously speaking, since I haven't been keeping up with this blog for ages, I actually went back and read all the way till like the November entries of something. 0_o (I think the last time I read a post [or that I can remember at least] was like Sarah's Pinter entry where she said she thought he was dead or something. :p) In my defense, though, I see I'm not the only one who's been neglecting this blog - there hasn't been a new entry here since like 2 months ago! 0_o

I guess we're all really going on with out busy lives, huh... it's kind of sad to think that we'll never be able to go back to those fun days in HC. Even the school itself is not the same anymore... now it's no longer Hwa Chong Junior College but Hwa Chong Insitute (Or did they finally change it to Institution).

BUT I think one of the great things about our class is that even after not meeting up for so long, when we get back together for a class gathering, it's just so easy to pick up where we left off and just talk about everything and anything. I hope we never lose this ability to have fun in each other's company no matter how long a time we spend apart. (Yuck man, that sounds like some mushy lover's confession or something... my Lit skills of knowing how to crap and make it sound good have been totally eroded... now I only know how to crap and [hopefully] be legally correct... >_<)

Anyway, gotta go for lessons now. Exam revision is underway and I'm so, so stressed! But it's all over and I go back to June in Singapore for the hols, we must have another class gathering ok! (Since I know most, if not all of you will also be having hols) I'm so deprived since I didn't go for the CNY gathering. :(

Ack, really need to go now or else I'll be late. Here's to hoping that someone else remembers this blog and updates soon too!

HI guys . Thanks for comin all to see me off! Very nice for so many of you to be there.. .am really touched!

Im settling in very well here. Im already quite used to the type of life here. My few complains are:
1) one cent coins are so irritating and they always sell things with weird numbers like 98Cents stuff like that
2) They dont include tax in their stuff so u always end up paying more even tho u think something is cheap
3) singapore is so much cleaner!
4) my msn is not working here
5) I cant see the class blog properly on this mac, shuying please enlarge the window can?

But there are lotsa stuff i like too! Like the library has lotsa comics and art books available for free. NYC is a big happening place lotsa things to explore. I only had one class painting so i cant comment on the teachers yet.

I got to see ruomei last week, kept buggin her to come out. we went for lots of chinese food like dim sum, and ate hot pot at her bfs place. QUite fun ok! They are prolly having lotsa fun in disney world here, leaving me all alone in NY.

The ppl here are quite friendly but i dunno how im gonna find some real friends tho, cuz in uni u have different classes all the time.

Zhenni thanks for the book! Its really speaking to me in everyway. I keep forgetting im here cuz of God's grace and im called to trust and depend on it. U know things are so exciting here that i just think i wanna make it big all the time with my own talents and hardwork, wanna leave God outta the picture. But hes the only reason why any of the artsy fartsy stuff matters. Was joyce meyer good?

hi guys, have not been hanging around the class blog for quite some time. Pls forgive my absence, for it was not intentional. Nonetheless, it is great to see that the blog is active. The person who is getting me stuff can get me a guitar stand to prop my guitar. Can be purchased from yamaha at PS, Luther at Penisular Hotel or salvaged from some dump(if you are really intent on tis business...) Don't be too surprised but it is quite affordable hahaz

wow.. O_o so many entries already! yes i really miss playing the "beauty of keeping in touch" or staying in touch.. or whatever.. in the reading room! and eating mashed potatoes.. with hot milo... aw... i miss mugging in hc lar... sigh* anyway.. i guess the price for the pres would be approx $20~$30.. but of coz if u're feeling rich and wanna splurge on at 100bucks present, no one's gonna stop you! ;p

ello ello! I realise that it's been quite a while since i posted on the class blog. anyway to make things easy for the person buying an xmas present for me (and to increase the possibility of me getting what i want), here's my wishlist!

Top (nice t-shirts/sleeveless tops that i can wear to school. no halters, tubes etc pls!)
Jacket (anything warm... but not a winter jacket la.. =x)
Skirt (a denim skirt! or anything casual that's not too many inches above the knee haha)
Shorts (nice but casual that can be worn either to school on a lazy day or to the beach!)
Hat (I would really really like a pretty hat! really!)
x Slippers (the casual kind that can be worn to the beach. i'm a size 5 or 6)
x Bag (a shoulder bag with smooth straps that won't cause my clothes to become furry)

It's not that I'm greedy, I'm simply giving more options such that it'll be easier for the person to choose what to get for me =p I'm being considerate! Come to think of it, what's the price floor/price ceiling anyway? I think last year we were to spend about $20?

Anyhow, in the meantime, everyone study hard and jiayou for exams! =)

guess what? i'm staying up late to MUG and i just thought i'll pop by and leave an entry (it's been ages since i did this)... yes.. i'm mugging, burning the midnight oil.. it's been a year since i last mugged for A levels... can you guys believe how fast time flies? last year, at this point of time, we were all probably mugging for our prelims! gosh! and now...

hows everyone? i havent seen a lot of people for quite a while! especially the guys.. yifong and alec! i miss you guys! haha.. and i didn't have a lot of time to catch up with the rest during MAF either.. i wonder when our next class outing will be.. i'll try to organise one soon.. but no guarantees.. with all that workload coming up.. *sigh!

Party Invitation:

I'm having a farewell party this coming Sunday (11th September) just before I leave to go to the UK. I'm not really sure what time all of you are free, so I'll just leave it free and easy; feel free to come to my house starting from 10am onwards (though I wonder wehther anuone will really want to come that early...). Lunch is provided. Dinner isn't, since I have a dinner with some family friends at around 7.30pm. (Blame my parents. :p) Saily was really nice and offered to stay back to cook on that day, so I won't be buying back food anymore. :) Please reply ASAP so I can have an idea of the number of people coming and can figure out how much food to make.

Buses that go to my house are 132, 105 and 190. Be warned, though, that it's a reeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaally long walk (about 1 km) in from the bus stop to my house - trust me, I used to walk home almost everyday during JC. :)

SWEET POTATO aka sweetie pie!! yes i do love you, still very much. in fact as absence makes the heart grow fonder, i'm loving you more each day..more than words...and gues what...having come the full circle, i think a commander bf is stil the best. becoz the minister's flyin off on fri to US (and wil prob get a chick over there) and too much of the doctor everyweek during alumni prac makes me sick (check out my witfully crafted irony here man..yoyo). so yes...that ranks you top on my list again (well..you've never been otherwise you noe..heeh).

so as all can see..sch's making me a bit cranky. credit goes to usp, that which ive been very involved. 2nd week into school and ive got my usp research essay due tmr and a 45min presentation on tue. wish me luck. just giving thanks that at least the pple in usp are pretty nice..yepx..wil be having D&D this fri and wil be performing with my newly set-up usp band! 5 guys and a girl..thats me!! :) (oh sweetie pie not to worry, you're stil the suave-est). as for ccas in nus, i'll be runnin for VP of the USP exco (tough fight it'll be), went for NUSSU public relations unit interview, got into Voices (a pop singing cca) and should be joining netball (haha..yes shuying, i'll prob be standin under the net and waitin for balls as usual..heh). stil giving tuition, going for yoga and meeting ahdu for lessons and yes....the above are enough to pack all my days to the brim. yup i've been really busy with school... siann siann siann.. onli 2 weeks into sch and i'm starting to fall behind my readings! esp elit.. u know wad? we're covering one text (Lolita) in 2 lectures!!! freak!!! and i havent even completed the text yet. and i have completely NO IDEA what the lecturer was talking about.. she just went on and on and on and on and on... (well, you get the idea) and me jy and sarah were panicking! haha..

basically.. school.. kinda sucks. and now that we're allocated our tuts.. my time table sux too! i got to come back to school on friday 3-4 for a jap lang slot! can u believe it! wad a waste of time! argh! and ccas.. haven't decided what to join yet.. i wanna do Kendo so badly.. but u know wad? it costs a bomb!!! like.. 100 bucks for the attire and sword.. and 500 for the armour.. 500!!!!

hey guys...

great turn up for class outing! in fact, i was quite surprised by the number of people! lets see.. we have yijun, sarah, kaori, yonghuat, yuhui, qinlei, jingyi, yifong, kumweng and me! that's like 10 people! two-third of the class... though it was a pretty short class outing.. didn't do much except have dinner and sit around and talk (and not much talk, i would say..) i don't know if it's me being over-sensitive, but somehow i feel kinda out of touch with everyone else.. like i wouldn't know what to say! and it kinda makes me sad... =(

honestly, i was rather disappointed with what happened before the outing. i thought we all agreed to go to the zoo? and i thought we fixed the date long before hand? so whatever happened to all that "I don't have enough cash to go to the zoo" and "i have something on"? if you're not keen on anything, why don't you voice out earlier when i'm asking for opinions... instead of telling me last minute stuff... To me, (alright i don't mean to be rude... but..) i think it's total crap. ah well.. lets just say it's not easy trying to organise a class outing... (although it's supposed to be coz there's only 15 of us!)

oh well... but i'm glad to see that people like yuhui (who.. haha.. don't intend to come initially until we persuaded him...) and yifong (who rushed down even though he was confined til quite late..) and kumweng (who came down to meet us after his family outing..) you know, people who couldn't make it for the whole thing, but still came down after all... =) it's very heartening to know that there are people who are still interested in the class...

after all, like what yifong said, there's no "friends forever"... instead, we all believe in "friends for a very long time.." and we're all putting in some effort to keep that going.. cya at the next class outing.. and hopefully.. things will get better! and all you stingy-pokers.. start saving up so we can do something more than just walking around! surely you can resist buying that $20 top to save up to do some fun stuff with your classmates!
